NIGERIAN STATE INVESTS IN INTERNET CAFES AND TECHNOLOGY INSTITUTE

The Jigawa State government of Nigeria has released N18 millionfor theestablishment of Internet cafes and the improvement of itsinformationinstitute to boost the study of computer science in thestate,according to the Daily Trust (Abuja).The state Commissioner ofScience and Technology, Alhaji Lawan Danzoma,maintained that thestate government intends to prioritise the study ofcomputer sciencein both its primary and post-primary institutions tobuild foundationfor the growth and development of computer knowledge in thestate.Accordingly, he added, individuals and organisations would soonbeallowed to utilise facilities in various locations in the state tofoster theireducational and organisational growth through the use ofcomputersprovided by the state government. - (World IT Report.com)
