Vic; Passenger dies in southeast Melbourne crash

MELBOURNE, April 22 AAP - A 34-year-old man was killed last night when the car in which
he was a passenger slammed into a light pole in Melbourne's southeast, police said.

The Commodore was heading north on Springvale Road in Keysborough about 11.30pm (AEST)
when it ran off the road and struck the pole.

Police said the man who was driving was taken to Monash Medical Centre with injuries.

The passenger's death took Victoria's road toll for the year to 132, which is one less
than at the same time last year.

Police asked anyone who witnessed the crash to contact the Glen Waverley Major Collision Unit.
